How Important was Religon to the People in the Middle Ages??
Posted on February 24th, 2007 at 3:45 pm by maria101 and

Religion as always been important but in the middle ages is was so imprtant that you could be killed if you said something disrespectful about God. The people who worked in the Church were usually the most educated and were the only ones who learned to read and write because when they were free they would copy from the bible which recuaiers reading and writing. There were many types of “jobs” in the Church you could be a monk, a priest, the pope, or a bishop. No matter what “job” you had wakening up early was something all these had in common. The word ‘holiday’ comes from ‘holy day’ such as easter, christmas, all saints day ect. All the jobs applied only for men. A monk would usully spend his day making bread to give to the poor helping the sick and teach people who were urious and wanted to know more about God.
